Sahara International Ventures NV is a worldwide operating investment firm focused on the development of (broadband) Internet businesses in upcoming markets. In Western markets, data- and telecommunication are widely incorporated in our daily lives and have become an integral part of the way we conduct business. It is our strong belief that in emerging markets, similar levels of maturity can be reached. Sahara International Ventures NV aims to actively participate in commercialising on the opportunities that result from further (broadband) Internet penetration in these markets.

Paul Gelderloos, Chief Executive Officer
Paul holds a Doctor’s Degree in Social Sciences from the University of Nijmegen and has published widely. Paul has worked in a number of educational and corporate settings in six countries. Engagements have varied from research projects in Europe and the US, to entrepreneurial responsibilities in third-world countries. Paul founded Scarlet in 1992 and has led Scarlet through its various stages of development.  Scarlet was sold to Belgacom in 2008.

Bob H. Lokhorst, Chief Financial Officer
Bob holds a Master Degree in Business Economics from the Free University in Amsterdam. He started his career at Arthur Andersen. Later he joined Computer Company, where he, as CFO, was involved in the merger with a Dutch listed company. He was appointed CFO in the Board of Directors of the newly formed company. In 2003, Bob joined Scarlet N.V., where he, as CFO, was involved in numerous acquisitions, finance projects and ultimately the sale to Belgacom.
